The Erzgebirge is not just about Christmas traditions and Männelmacher (carved nutcrackers in the shape of little men); the area is also the economic backbone of Saxony, with a wide variety of industries as well as numerous innovative and internationally active businesses. This is the point of the new promotional video, "Erzgebirge: location for business". The idea behind the 15-minute ‘moving image' is a fictional story with the slogan "Thought of it. Did it", a tale of two shrewd young heroes who want to make a difference in the Erzgebirge. The two actors provide the context for a journey through the Erzgebirge. They visit firms all the way from Freiburg, to Mildenau, Neudorf, Oelsnitz im Erzgebirge and Zwönitz and on to Aue. Real-life managing directors, personnel managers and apprentices have their say about their workplaces, talking about the advantages of the location and facts about the region and telling their own personal success stories which have seen them make it nationally and on the world market.
