A healing natural oasis
The people of the Erzgebirge are experts at knowing how to relax. After all, they live in the middle of an oasis with thermal springs, a range of spas and Heilstollen (healing caves). If that was not already enough, there is also good honest local food. Erzgebirge hospitality is guaranteed where you see the quality seal "Echt Erzgebirgischer Landgasthof" (Genuine Erzgebirge Country Hotel).
Hares not shares
Take a walk on one of the loveliest paths in Germany: the Erzgebirge-Vogtland ridgeway, which has been awarded an official seal of quality from the German Hiking Association. More than 5,000 kilometres of marked walking routes are just asking to be enjoyed. In May and September, the most beautiful months for walking, the Erzgebirge residents will insist on personally guiding their visitors around the region. A selection of circular themed routes will introduce you to the prettiest castles, forts and attractions of their region. Green forests, lush mountain meadows and fresh air are thrown in for free. In addition, inns will tempt you in to rest along the way. The German Hiking Association has awarded more than 20 of these the seal of "Qualitätsgastgeber Wanderbares Deutschland" (Quality hospitality for walkers in Germany).
